Update

With regard to the current developments of the corona situation in the area, all anniversary celebrations have been cancelled for the next months. 
A new book about the history and the developments of the Charlemagne Prize, called „Der internationale Karlspreis. Eine europäische Erfolgsgeschichte“ (engl. The International Charlemagne Prize. A European Success Story), written by the Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Jürgen Linden, will be available from April 1st.

We're celebrating 70 years of history, 70 years of welcoming the great visionaries of Europe in Aachen, 70 years of the Charlemagne Prize!

15th March 2020, we have invited guests from all over Europe to join our anniversary celebrations at the Coronation Hall of the Aachen Town Hall. 

We are delighted to announce that the new President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will honour us with a speech on this special occasion, alongside representatives of the Charlemagne Youth Prize and the Charlemagne Prize Academy,  welcomed by Minister President Armin Laschet and the Major of the City of Aachen Marcel Philipp.
